Welcome to the Fundamentals of Chess class! 

This class is designed for those who are new to chess and need to learn the basics in order to become a tournament player.  Since this is primarily and online class is is important to complete the assignements on your own and to communicate with me if you have any problems or questions. 

Chess is a fantastic game that combines elements of geometry, art, problem solving, analysis, creativity, concentration, and hard work.  Chess mastery takes most people a lifetime.  However, there are a few individuals who stand out and rise to the top quickly.  Chess can be enjoyed at all levels from the novice all the way to Grand Master!
